Copyright & DMCA Policy
Our position
PlayByPart is a processing tool. We do not supply music, keep a catalogue, or let users browse or share each other's files. Every job is created by a user from a file they upload, is visible only to that user, and is deleted automatically. Before processing, every user confirms that they own the recording or have permission to process it.
What users may and may not do
- Allowed: your own recordings and compositions; public-domain works; music you have licensed for this purpose; personal study and practice of music you lawfully own, where your local law permits it.
- Not allowed: uploading music you are not entitled to process; distributing, publishing, performing or selling outputs derived from copyrighted works without authorisation; using the Service to make unauthorised arrangements or transcriptions for others.
Outputs derived from a copyrighted recording or composition may themselves be derivative works. Rights in the underlying music stay with its owners; the Service does not grant you any licence to it.
Notice of claimed infringement
If you believe content processed through the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at support@riverthought.com (postal address available on request) containing: (1) identification of the copyrighted work; (2) identification of the material you want removed and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it (for example a job identifier or the time and user you believe uploaded it); (3) your contact details; (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; (6) your physical or electronic signature.
On receipt of a valid notice we will remove or disable the material promptly, notify the user, and apply our repeat-infringer policy. Because files are retained for at most 24 hours, the material may already have been deleted.
Counter-notice
If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to support@riverthought.com with: identification of the material and its location before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, telephone number; consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, if outside the US, any judicial district in which we may be found) and that you will accept service from the person who filed the original notice; and your signature.
Repeat infringers
We terminate access for users who are the subject of repeated valid infringement notices.
